McDavid has goal, assist, tops 130 points for Oilers in win against Stars
EDMONTON — Connor McDavid had a goal and an assist to surpass 130 points for the Edmonton Oilers in a 4-1 win against the Dallas Stars at Rogers Place on Thursday.
Mattias Janmark scored twice, Evan Bouchard had two assists, and Stuart Skinner made 25 saves for the Oilers (38-23-8), who have won two straight and four of five.
Wyatt Johnston scored for the third straight game, and Jake Oettinger made 26 saves for the Stars (37-19-13), who have lost two straight.
Warren Foegele scored at 12:12 of the first period to give the Oilers a 1-0 lead when he converted a cross-crease pass from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
Janmark scored on a short-handed 2-on-1 rush with McDavid at 15:53 to make it 2-0.
McDavid collected a loose puck deep in his own end, skated up the right wing and slipped a pass through Stars defenseman Ryan Suter to Janmark, who scored on a one-timer.
Johnson cut it to 2-1 at 9:49 of the third period when he picked up his own rebound in the slot and shot it past Skinner.
McDavid restored the two-goal lead with a power-play goal at 11:18 to make it 3-1. He took pass in the slot from Leon Draisaitl and picked the top corner on Oettinger.
Janmark scored into an empty net at 17:17, with Oettinger on the bench for an extra attacker, for the 4-1 final.
