The only thing better than having Quinton Byfield in the building is having two Quinton Byfields in the building.

Seems improbable sure, but that’s exactly what went down at Crypto.com Arena on Thursday.

The Los Angeles Kings forward Quinton Byfield hosted Quinton Byfield, a 9-year-old fan from Pelham, New York, before their game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. It was the realization of a promise that began on the other side of the country over a year ago.

The “little” Byfield attended a game at Madison Square Garden on January 24, 2022, where the New York Rangers hosted the Kings and his name twin. It was his family’s first NHL game. He brought a sign shouting out the bigger Byfield, who stopped and gave him a puck.

About a week later, both Byfields appeared on NHL Network with the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft inviting the youngster out to Los Angeles for a game.

The younger of the Byfields got a full pregame tour of the arena, a custom home Kings jersey and even referred to the Kings forward as a “long, distant cousin” in an interview with Bally Sports West.

Will “Little QB” go No. 2 in the 2032 NHL Draft? Why not? We’ve already got two Sebastian Ahos.
